ANZBIG Submits ACCU method EOI
A cross-industry working group facilitated by our StandCert working group and supported by ANZBIG has submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) proposing that a biochar method be added to the ACCU scheme. The method tracker shows that over 40 EOIs are being considered for recommendation by the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (ERAC). ANZBIG remains committed to advocating for the inclusion of biochar in Australia’s greenhouse gas inventory and the ACCU scheme, aligning with the United Nations’ IPCC report since 2018. Forestry Australia’s carbon working group has also invited the authors of the EOI to participate in a panel discussion in August—stay tuned for more information on this free event.
